Event Photography in St. Louis
I cover an event the way a reporter would — looking for the moment that tells the story, not the moment everyone poses for.
Most event photography is a series of interruptions: stop, turn, smile, hold. I'd rather your guests forget I'm in the room. I move quietly, shoot a lot, and stay through the parts most photographers pack up before — the setup, the lull, the last hour when people have relaxed into the night.
What you get back isn't a wall of grinning line-ups. It's a record of what the evening actually felt like, with the handshakes and the podium shots in there too, because you need those.
I've shot Music at the Intersection for the Kranzberg Arts Foundation, neighborhood races and beer miles, food truck nights, and street festivals across the city. I know where to stand at a St. Louis event because I've been standing at them for years.
